General Meeting – October 16, 2006

Meeting started @ 7:42 PM  10/16/06

• Introductions made
• Health and Welfare discussed- Jim Donaldson and Sarah’s mom mentioned. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
• Minutes for September 2006 read and accepted
• Don, W2SBI, Treasurer report accepted- $145.00 in checkbook.
• Net stats for September given. Attendance has improved. In September, there were 58 check ins and already close to 40 at time of this meeting.
• Don, W2SBI,  Mentioned Red Cross Net held on Sundays at 9pm. Also NV-gate, Radio RF and echo-link mentioned.
• Rich gave ARES report-asked members to please sign up on web page via email. Need volunteers to form planning committee.  (IE: Hospital needs vary as to which repeater to rely on, etc.) Don, W4PRN, then mentioned advantages of joining ARRL and that the club also gets $ for any club member renewals.
• Sarah suggested a handout for any acronyms used to make it easier on new members to know what is being discussed.
• Stro says he has a new UHF machine for Station #10.
• Stro presented RASON brochure to members.
• Stro suggested a picnic for Saturday, 10/28 at Tarralton Park from noon until 4PM. Agreed upon by members present and they agreed to bring the following:  Paul- Macaroni salad, Stro- Burgers/Hotdogs, Lisa- Chicken and Potatoe Salad and utensils, Don S.- Chili/chips and munchies, Sarah- Sodas and drinks, Rich- Generator, salad and salad dressing, Ed- Ice
• January meeting will be a Dinner meeting held at the Surfrider on Diamond Springs and Wesleynn Rd. Date set is 1/11/07, Saturday, at 6PM. Stro is to make reservations.
• Lisa motioned a fundraiser for club using Valuechecks.  Approved.
• Don S. put forth that if anyone was interested in club badges to let him know.
• Rich gave a presentation on Echo-Link.
• Next general meeting to be held on November 20, 2006
