REPORT ON RASON NETS
- Net report given total of 47 check-ins for first week
- Vote on changing time of the net
- leaving it at 19:30 will re-evaluate in the fall
- raffle for net check-ins
- every time you check in your name goes in the drawing for the end of the month
- HTX 252 will be first prize when implemented
REPORT on HOME DEPOT EXPO
- Home Depot has welcomed us back anytime we would like
- President to send out Thank You letter for Home Depot
PROGRAM
- Ira Swartz KG4IIF did hurricane preparedness presentation
- Ira has several different topics he can do a program on
- Will have him come back again to give other presentations
TREASURER'S REPORT
- Membership accepted W2SBI unanimously as new Treasurer
- W2SBI read treasurer’s report and accepted by membership
- Decide on where to have Post Office Box
- Need to find bank for Corp. account
COMMITTEE REPORTS
- KI4KNV Ray Gill nominated for Public Service Coordinator
- KE4AZL Butch Burke nominated for Red Cross Liaison
- Bylaws Committee Chairman needed, no nominations made
- Newsletter Editor needed, no nominations made
- taking suggestions on names for newsletter
- Robert Strohmeyer (Stroh) offered to be Webmaster Board and members accepted
- W4LSJ will give Stroh all pertinent info
- Need 2006 Harborfest Chairman ASAP no nominations made
- Membership Coordinator needed
- KG4KJW suggests treasurer and membership coordinator should be the same person. Board to take it under advisement.
OLD BUSINESS
- Field Day
- RASON not ready to have own field day this year
- encourage our members to support other clubs field days
- Post cards to local hams letting them know of our existence will re-evaluate after we have funds
- NTS Traffic Net
- we will get our vhf net more established first and look into having traffic portion in the future
- Rich Davis repeater
- No WTKR space for repeater
- Matt KB1LCS will look into space at DePaul hospital
- Rich needs help with getting and moving a tower he can have to put the repeater up higher at its current location
ARES UPDATE
- Brad Taylor KW4USA is now the Section Emergency Coordinator
- Terry Buzzard KA8TNF is new DEC for Section 9
- ARES MAT Mutual Assistance Teams discussed
- Brad has meeting with Human Services Resource Manager this week
- Norfolk has expressed the need for amateurs at the shelters
- RASON recommended Rich Davis N2NMH as Norfolk EC
- RASON member as EC will keep best interest of club members
- Brad will take under advisement
- ARES should be a partner with RASON
- Brad's section report mentioned RASON to the ARRL
