MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

MISSION STATEMENT/ CLUB DIRECTION

            >Support Red Cross

            >Support Norfolk shelters

            >Contact Mr. Talbot when we know who can cover which shelter and who can make it to the EOC on Virginia Beach BLVD.

            >Keep the HOBBY FUN

            >Family oriented

            >Special events as a group

            >KW4USA is DEC for ARES and acting EC for Norfolk is meeting with city manager about getting an ARES plan together. Brad will come to meetings to help establish ARES in Norfolk

            >Support of HAMS in Norfolk to get more interested

            >PUBLIC SERVICE and do not shut out other clubs for assistance in events

            >Communications cookouts!!!

            >Emphasis on family and camaraderie events not just public service

            >More field day events inspires people to upgrade

            >Postcards to local HAMS about club

            >NO MONEY NO CLUB

            >C.E.R.T. in future

            >Secure coordinated repeater

            >Club call

            >Disaster help

            >Nets

 

 

Bylaws Intro/Officer Descriptions

            >Will put in place by next meeting

            >Para military structure discussion

            >Body always has the power to override any decision by the board, encourages people to come to meeting

            >2 different dues

                 -One amount for e-mailed copy of newsletter

                 -Higher amount for hard copy of newsletter to be mailed

            >Treasurer and membership chair usually same person

            >Secretary is also sunshine person

            >No Communications officer at this time

SOCIALIZATION

            >More kid's days

            >"Mini" field days

            >Club barbeques and potlucks often

FUTURE VIEWS

            >Establish as a non- profit

            >ARRL involved

            >Club Website K4NTO willing to help with web-space and address for RASON

            >Apply for call sign

                   -As soon as call sign is on list apply for vanity call sign

            >Actively recruit

            >Club newsletter

            >Harbor Fest?

            >Club logo to incorporate Norfolk Mace? Matt will research copyright issues

            >Rich Davis (N2NMH) willing to put club call on his 444.475 (+) repeater PL of 127.3

            >If we help city out with shelters and such maybe Norfolk will give us space to get repeater up high

            >Traffic handling in the future

            >SKYWARN, next class 23rd of May 2005 contact KI4DNN

            >Rag chew net possibly on the 145.33 N2NMH and KG4YEQ will ask W4VB for permission

            >Sonny's tower from CARS possibly for N2NMH repeater
